Background
In this task, you will add the entry to the Krebs cycle (citrate) and it's indirect conversion to fatty acids and lipids (fatty acid synthase).
Your Mission
Draw the conversion reactions highlighted in the below figure. For this task, you can start with your own draft from the previous step, or a starter pathway.
- Download the starter pathway here: fig-met-1-third-start.gpml.
- Launch PathVisio and open the dowloaded file or your draft pathway file via File > Open.
- Add a metabolite node for citrate.
- Add two metabolite nodes, one for lipids and one for fatty acids. Group the two nodes.
- Draw a mim-conversion interaction between the citrate node and the two grouped nodes, and add an anchor to the indirect arrow.
- Add the gene product, FASN, and the mim-catalysis interaction.
- Add two gene products, PRKAB1 and PRKAA2, and create a complex composed of the two nodes.
- Add the mim-inhibition interaction (
) from the complex to the indirect interaction.
- Done!
- Save your work as a GPML file under File > Save As.
- Drag-and-drop the GPML file below to check if it is correct.
