Background
In this quest, you will learn how to convert a published static pathway figure from the scientific literature to an interactive pathway model at WikiPathways. The figure is depicted below and is from Linehan, et al. The New England journal of medicine. 2016;374(2):135-145.
The pathway depicts parts of the Glycolysis and Krebs cycle pathways. There are some key points about how the pathway is represented in the figure and how this relates to our pathway model:
- The figure includes specific data overlaid on the pathway nodes (red and blue). When creating a pathway model, data associated with the original figure or source, such as node fill color, should not be included in the model.
- The figure includes RNA and Protein nodes for the same gene product (rounded rectangles and ovals). We will use only one Gene Product node to represent both protein and RNA forms.
